Buyers pay by PayPal invoice from Blue Opal LLC. The seller is paid after the buyer confirms delivery. PayPal's buyer protection covers problems, and there's no escrow fee.
Buyers pay into escrow and the seller is paid after the buyer accepts the equipment. Escrow.com's fee starts at $50.
Your money waits safely until the equipment arrives.
Escrow means a neutral third party holds the buyer's money until the buyer receives the equipment and approves it. Every sale of $1,000 or more is paid through Escrow.com, a licensed escrow company. We never hold anyone's money.
Sales under $1,000 are paid by PayPal invoice instead, so small items don't carry Escrow.com's $50 minimum fee. The seller is paid after the buyer confirms delivery, and PayPal's buyer protection covers problems.
Buyer and seller agree
The price, what's included, shipping terms and the inspection period (how many days the buyer has to check the equipment after delivery) are written into the escrow transaction.
Buyer pays Escrow.com
Usually by wire transfer. Escrow.com confirms the money has arrived. The seller doesn't receive anything yet.
Seller ships
Once payment is confirmed, buyer and seller get each other's contact details to arrange pickup or freight, and the seller enters the tracking information.
Buyer inspects
The buyer checks the equipment against the listing during the inspection period, then accepts it or reports a problem.
Seller gets paid
When the buyer accepts, or the inspection period ends with no problem reported, Escrow.com releases the money to the seller. Our commission is paid from the sale at this step.
If something's wrong
If the equipment doesn't match the listing, the buyer reports it during the inspection period. The money stays in escrow while buyer and seller work it out, for example a price adjustment or a return. Escrow.com has its own dispute process if they can't agree.
Who pays the escrow fee
Escrow.com charges a fee for each transaction based on the sale price. The buyer pays it unless buyer and seller agree to split it. Escrow.com's current rates are on its website.
Buy with confidence.
Equipment is sold as-is. Buyers arrange inspection, rigging and shipping. Deals with sellers you find on this site must go through the site; see the Terms of Use.
Common questions
Who can see my company name?
No one, until payment is secured for your item. Listings show only the equipment and the state it's in.
What equipment can I list?
Industrial and botanical processing equipment: extractors, dryers, distillation, chillers, lab and testing gear, and packaging lines.
Are there monthly fees?
No. Sellers pay a one-time listing fee and a commission only when the item sells.
When do I pay the commission?
Only when your equipment sells. It comes out of the sale at closing.
Do buyers pay a fee?
Not to us. On sales of $1,000 or more, buyers pay Escrow.com's fee, which starts at $50. Sales under $1,000 are paid by PayPal with no escrow fee.
Can I sell small items?
Yes. Small items are paid by PayPal. Grouping small items such as glassware, lab supplies and spare parts into one lot often sells faster.
Who handles shipping?
The buyer arranges inspection, rigging and freight. We can refer partners.
Can I sell my whole facility at once?
Yes. Contact us about a whole-facility package.
